カフェめぐり

行くまでめちゃくちゃ迷いました
Googleマップは当てにしない方がいいです！笑
猫の手パン工場を目指していく方が看板出てる道にたどり着けると思います。

店内入ったら、階段で二階へ上がります。そんなに緩やかではないので、お年寄りは難しいかもしれません。

カフェの曜日だったので、
アボカドドリンクとスイーツ2種盛り注文。

スイーツは1個が親指の先くらいしかないんじゃないかというくらい小さいのが2個乗ってて、
ドリンクは結構でかいです。
正直、値段だけみると、
高いなというのが正直な感想なのですが、
なんというか、場所も雰囲気も店内もすごく居心地が良くて、他のお客さんがいなかったからだと思いますが、
電車の音と風鈴の音、たまに鳥の声がして、無でぼーっと外を眺めながらソファでゆっくりできました。

帰り際にアイメイクを褒めていただき、
店員さんと少し会話もできてよかったです。

また行きます♪

平日のお昼すぎに伺ってストレートチャイとインドスイーツセットをいただきました。細かく説明してくれて窓から見える景色も綺麗でした。チャイもスイーツも美味しく時間もゆっくり流れてる様でした。

本格カレー。景色最高。予約をしていったのでゆったり、すぐにご飯も出てきて最高でした。尾道なのか忘れてまったりしてしまうお店でした。ちょっと迷子になるので余裕をもって行かれたほうが良いです。

坂道の途中、少し小脇に入った所にあるチャイカフェ＆カレー屋さんです。
たまたま看板を見かけ、美味しそうだったのでお伺いしました。

食事は日替わりカレーのプレートを頂きました。
メインのカレー以外にも、副菜やスープが1つのプレートになっていて、自分の好みに合わせながらいろいろ混ぜて食べられるようになっていました。
どのお料理もとっても丁寧に作られていて、苦手な食材を使ったお料理ですら美味しく頂けてとても幸せでした。
食後にはインドのプチデザートとマサラチャイもあり、最後まで大満足でした！

私が訪れた時は土曜のみの営業でしたが、来月から平日のカフェ営業も考えられているとの事でしたので、時間が取れそうなら平日も来てみたいと思いました。
お店に入った時からとってもいい香りがしていて、内装もとってもオシャレで最高の空間でした！尾道に訪れた際は是非訪れてみて欲しいです。

Lovely tiny coffee shop, we went on a Saturday and got the curry special. Was an excellent lunch and the chai was on point. Extremely recommended!~ Went with our baby and the owner was super kind and accommodating.

This is a special place in a town that's special to me.

It had been raining today in Onomichi, the way it rains all the time in Vancouver. I write this in the fall, and across the distance of the inlet dividing the city from Mukaishima, the light is silvery, grey. Beyond the mists are mountains deep deep green, burnished gold, bronze, red. It's inexplicable to me that the air is so well punctuated with birdsong of such variety.

This is all very apparent from within the cafe that crests near the top of the little hillside city, behind irregular, imperfect, hand-made glass panes that surround the upstairs space. There are hand-woven rugs, mismatched tables and chairs, wood polished glossy and smooth from the touch of hands over the decades. The space itself is nestled. The room is a warm embrace.

The stairs leading up to the seating area are a little steep, and you are urged to tackle them in bedroom slippers provided in the space. It would be rude and inappropriate to trail in the dirt from the outside in such a beautiful space.

The "blend chai" is made to order, with herbs freshly ground just before, and milk piping hot and frothy -- sharp, fiery, and satisfying. Fragrant, and that special "not too sweet" that is one of the gifts of the Japanese palate, it warms my chest.

I'm consciously trying to slow my mind down, and resist to thinking of what I need to do in the next two hours because I just want to stay here, and stay and stay. So, I guess it's good that I ordered cake.

Fresh today was a beet and lemon cake, likely from local ingredients, so indelibly moist and rich in the mouth, and a surprising ASMR delight when I press my fork in for the first time.

It is garnished with some of the best cashews I've ever had, and when gently asked, the woman who provided it advises to use a little soy sauce, and roast in a pan. The outside is crisp, one さく (not two), and the inside is not dry.

All these details mention above make it for a most magical experience on the whole...

... but then when you go looking for the toilet to prepare for the rest of your walk on the side of the hill, and then you realize that You've Found Narnia...

THAT, itself, is a different story.
